North Barrington, IL House Cleaning Services

North Barrington grew out of a 1920s weekend retreat. Biltmore Country Estates and its golf club were laid out around Honey Lake, and later came Wynstone, Oaksbury and other enclaves where homes sit on large, tree-covered lots off Route 59 and Route 22. Today the village is a quiet corner of Lake County with a mix of mid-century houses, 1990s custom builds and gated golf course homes.

Those very different houses share one thing: they take time to keep clean. McMaid Home Services, a locally owned company, has been taking that work off families’ plates in the north and west suburbs since 1975. Our trained teams arrive in uniform with a set checklist, and a specially trained inspector supervises their work right in your home.

Choose General Maintenance cleaning on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly schedule, book a Deep Cleaning once or twice a year, or call us for a Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning when a house is empty and changing owners. Each free quote is based on the size of the home, how often you’d like service and its current condition.

The village’s neighborhoods range from the original Biltmore lots near Honey Lake to the gated streets of Wynstone. Oaksbury, an early-1960s development with two-acre lots, and pockets like Grassmere Farms, Haverton on the Pond and Pennington Ponds sit among wetlands and woods. Our teams clean homes in each of them, along with houses on the wooded roads in between.

Biltmore Country Estates includes houses built over many decades, some dating back to the area’s early days. Older homes tend to have more trim, built-ins and quirky corners. Our maintenance checklist dusts sills, frames, moldings and lamps every visit, while a Deep Cleaning hand-washes doors, jambs, baseboards and switch plates and polishes wood furniture.

In Wynstone and the newer custom homes, the challenge is scale: large kitchens, several baths and open great rooms. Weekly or bi-weekly General Maintenance keeps counters disinfected, appliances polished, sinks scrubbed and floors washed by hand, so the house stays ready for guests from the club.

The woods and wetlands that make North Barrington feel so private also bring in pollen, leaves and moisture. Homes near ponds and low-lying areas like Grassmere Farms and Oaksbury can see more mud tracked in during wet seasons. Hard floors and stairs are vacuumed and washed on every maintenance visit, and a spring Deep Cleaning reaches ceiling fans, light fixtures and upholstered furniture after a long winter of closed windows.

Many residents commute to the Barrington Metra station on the Union Pacific Northwest line, a short drive south. When a family relocates or downsizes, our Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning prepares the empty house by cleaning inside cabinets, drawers, closets, the oven and the refrigerator.

North Barrington homeowners tend to ask good questions before hiring help. Our answers are simple. McMaid has cleaned homes in Chicago’s northwest suburbs since 1975 and is locally owned, with an office in Rolling Meadows. Teams are thoroughly trained and professionally uniformed, and each one works under the supervision of a specially trained inspector.
